Last Sunday 8 of December a new edition of the Armenian Music Video Awards took place. This time, the ceremony was celebrated on the mythic and magic Dolby Theatre (known as the place were the Oscar’s Ceremony takes place) in LA, on the United States.
Arsen Isahakyan was the one in charge of her hair for the occasion. She opted for curly hair with a pair of tight braids this time. Right after it, Seda Grigoryan from Beauty Fabric USA, who is not the first time that works with the singer, put her a natural make up on, which totally matched her outfit and the event.
And the time for dressing up arrived. I have to admit this is one of the things that gets me more intrigued in every of her events, as she knows how to fascinate us with her looks. The artist, who is going to be 18th next month, chose a long light cream lace dress with an opening in both legs, matching it with a thin but short high heels on the same color. As an ending we got a really elegant and serene look for this special date.
Before the red carpet, it was time for the soundcheck. And after the doors were opened at 18:00, the show began at 18:30.
Before the ceremony, it was announced that she was going to be accompanied by Vahagn Stepanyan. We also suspected days before she wasn’t going to dance with other dancers, so all these details made us think she will probably sing a ballad, the question was WHICH ONE?!!
I think some of us had in mind Erazanq maybe, as she has performed the song many times before. But according to the votes on the question we shared on Instagram Stories, and I also would have voted that, most of us thought immediately that she could perform a piano version of “Qami Qami”, song that brought the victory to her country on Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
But we were all wrong. She knows how to surprise us and doing the things as we can’t expect or wait what’s coming. Maléna performed “Ervum Em” song by Komitas after being introduced by Mher Bagdasaryan and Any Yeranyan. And we were speechless one more time with the softly way she sang it. And that wasn’t all, almost at the end of the song, she played the cello. It wasn’t a secret that Maléna used to play the instrument some years ago, and she claimed many times the idea of playing it back but I honestly didn’t know she was doing it. It was just as magical as it was majestic!

Maléna’s performance ended but we didn’t need to wait long till Gayane Avetisyan and Von Vemian announced her as an Armenian Music Video Award recipient because of her “Flashing Lights” music video. So, the singer went to the stage again to get her prize. We could see a happy Maléna who was glad to be sharing the hall with so many Armenians although they were than far away from their homeland. She also didn’t miss the occasion of giving thanks for the prize and also congratulated other artists who got the AMVA that night.

The Armenian Music Video Awards will also take place in 2025. Seems this new edition of the ceremony will take place on 13th December, once again in the Dolby Theatre (soulce: Kamoblog). So just take note on your agenda. We hope to see Maléna once again there.
